2007 WNY Pop Warner Cheer Tournament Recap
For the first time ever, the Amherst Broncos Cheerleaders competed in the 2007 WNY Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Tournament held at RIT. Each of the Broncos' squads adopted routines consistent with our team theme "Broncos TV" and did an outstanding job at the tournament.
In the morning session, the Jr. Pee Wee cheerleaders nailed their competitive routine which combined classic TV theme songs with high flying stunts and eye-popping tumbling. In their first ever competition, the JPW's beat teams more than twice their size and earned a first place trophy and the WNY League Championship title. With the win, the JPW's advanced to the Eastern Regional Qualifier.
The afternoon session saw two more Broncos squads make their debut in the exhibition portion of the Tournament. The Mitey Mites performed an entertaining routine of cheers and cartwheels and capped it off with a dance number to the theme song "Push It" from the Disney Channel movie "Jump In". The dance was choreographed by our own Mitey Mite captains Victoria Pizzuto and Maya Westcott. The Pee Wee team's routine combined fun cheers, prep stunts and a fast moving dance routine to a "Pink Panther" cheer-remix. Cheerleaders Olivia Boyd and Amanda Lucey choreographed the entire 2 minute and 30 second routine.
Congratulations to our 2008 cheerleaders on a job well done!!
